Roster 2023-2024: Patriks Grigors
It’s a big welcome back to the Stars blue line for Patriks Grigors as he joins up for his third season on Teesside. Billingham’s second ‘import’ joins fellow Latvian Rolands Gritāns in signing on for another year, perhaps with a point to prove after missing two big chunks of last season with multiple-game suspensions. Paddy came to the UK six years ago, initially with Murrayfield/Edinburgh before moving onto Dundee Comets via a very brief one-game stint at Solway. His arrival at the Forum could not have been better timed as Billingham’s very young side needed some steel as they tackled their very steep learning curve, Paddy more than happy to stick up for his team-mates when necessary. Paddy freely admits that he crossed the line last season and is aiming to let his hockey do the talking this time round. An extremely popular member of the squad, players and fans alike will be delighted to see Paddy (with a bit less of the Baddy) back at the Stars.

Paddy has not yet found a cure for his allergy to Billingham Stars TV but was happy to share his delight at returning to the Stars:
“I am excited to be back and play another season at Billingham Stars. Unfortunately last season I missed a lot of games because I took a lot of penalties which led me to be banned for multiple games. But this is a new season and I am looking to play a different game with less penalties. I am looking forward to playing with the team, and to putting in maximum effort to win trophies!
Last year we got great support from the fans and hopefully this season we will have more fans to watch us play.”
Your Stars will continue to unveil the new squad over the coming days and weeks – keep checking back for all the latest news from the Billingham camp over the summer.
